Alanna Nickles is an experimental filmmaker , Gaffer, Cinematographer, and Colorist from Charleston, South Carolina. She received a BFA in Film Production from Emerson College with a focus in Cinematography and experimental film .

 

In 2021, she relocated to NYC, initially working as a video producer in the corporate sector for the global film equipment retailer B&H, before pivoting to freelance commercial and indie film production all along the North East. 


Alanna has contributed to numerous award-winning short and feature films that have screened at prestigious festivals such as NZIFF, The Armory Show, and Sundance. Active in NYC, San Francisco, and the Southeast, her commercial clients include Dior, Fendi, The Juilliard School, Boeing, and Mercedes-Benz. 


Her personal work features predominantly analog and hand painted 16mm film and utilizes alternative processes both in production as well as exhibition. She has installed solo shows both in MA as well as

NYC.

Currently, she is producing an arthouse video game in collaboration with the prestigious Dis. Magazine and New Inc., while continuing to work as a bicoastal freelance Gaffer and DP.
